![]() ![]() ![]() I would re-recommend this book to anyone who struggles with writing or someone who is so used to the 5-paragraph expository essay that she cannot fathom applying all of her significant information (who, what, where, when, why, and how) into the initial paragraph of an assignment-let alone a proposed article to a major publication. On Writing Well: The Classic Guide to Writing Nonfiction, first published in 1976, has sold almost 1.5 million copies to three generations of writers, editors, journalists, teachers and students. It is very much about the simple ways to communicate effectively. It is perfect for learning how to not just use the inverted triangle as a Writer, but also to remember that everyone is a reader and when we read items, we usually hope that the author gets straight to the point. That is when I was made aware of this book: On Writing Well by William Zinsser. I asked them for more advice on how to be successful in the academic program as well as on the field. I was so used to pulling BS easily in the past, but they were able to call me out on all of my attempts to pad my essays.
